About the travel subsidy

Regional, rural and remote schools can access a travel subsidy when visiting NSW Parliament in 2025. The subsidy will be a rate for schools that qualify, and it will be paid once an application has been received and the school has completed its tour and/or program at the Parliament of NSW.

Is my school eligible? When does the subsidy start?

It will be available to all schools located in eligible electorates 120km or more from Sydney from the beginning of Term 1, 2025. Please see the list of eligible electorates below.

How much is the subsidy?

The subsidy will be $300 for schools on a day trip to Sydney or $400 for schools requiring an overnight stay.

How does my school apply the subsidy to our visit to the Parliament of NSW?

When you make a booking for a school tour or workshop at the Parliament of NSW, and your school qualifies for the new travel subsidy, please indicate you would like to apply for the subsidy when you call us to book. You will then receive an application form as well as confirmation of your school excursion. Please complete and return the subsidy form to the Education team [email protected] before your visit.
