About This Event
In representing the people and keeping the Government to account, the Parliament of New South Wales often considers highly complex issues. One way the Parliament seeks to navigate the challenge is through its committees, where a small group of members are selected to investigate a particular area of policy or legislation.
In doing their work, committees gather evidence by calling for submissions, talking to witnesses and conducting visits; before publishing its findings and recommendations. This means that committees are at the forefront of scrutinising the government and engaging with the public on behalf of the Parliament.
