Hansard

Hansard is the written record of proceedings and debates in Parliament.

On sitting days Hansard officers produce a transcript for all proceedings and incorporate members’ speeches during debate as they occur. They also provide a transcript of proceedings of committee hearings. Hansard is named after the man who was the first official printer of the transcripts of the United Kingdom Parliament from the early 1800s.
