A bill proposing a tax or the spending of money for a particular purpose. Money bills can only originate in the Legislative Assembly, but after they have been introduced they follow the same passage through both Houses as other bills. However, special provision exists under the Constitution Act for the Governor to give his or her assent where the Legislative Council does not agree to pass certain money bills.
