Serjeant-at-Arms

Serjeant-at-Arms

The senior protocol officer in the Legislative Assembly who carries out the orders of the House and keeps order in the chamber. The Serjeant-at-Arms is also a Clerk-at-the-Table and accordingly the Deputy Serjeant carries out many of the duties of the Serjeant (such as carrying the Mace and being present in the Chamber at Question Time).
