WATCH NOW – Parliament Unpacked: The Dismissal

WATCH NOW – Parliament Unpacked: The Dismissal

Recorded live in the historic Jubilee Room to a sold-out crowd, on the anniversary of the 1975 dismissal of the Whitlam government.

We brought together leading experts to examine state vs federal constitutional powers and revisit the 1975 dismissal of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, 50 years on, from a distinctly NSW perspective. The discussion also reflected on another pivotal moment in our political history: the 1932 dismissal of NSW Premier Jack Lang.

Thank you to our panel: Professor Rodney Smith, Dr Lynsey Blayden, and The Hon. Daniel Mookhey MLC, and to The Hon. Greg Piper MP for joining us.

This event was proudly delivered by the NSW Parliamentary Education and Engagement team.
