Journey to the 58th Parliament

On March 25 2023, the people of New South Wales will head to the polls for the 2023 State election. Votes cast will be reflected in the broad representation of people elected to the 58th Parliament of NSW. Each new Parliament is numbered, so from 1856 when the first responsible government was formed, NSW has had 57 Parliaments.

Follow the steps on the graphic to fully understand the process we follow to establish the next Parliament in NSW.

The NSW Electoral Commission is legislated to conduct, regulate and report on State elections for the Parliament of NSW. For key dates and information about the 2023 New South Wales election, visit https://elections.nsw.gov.au/
